PRESIDENT'S CHATTER
By Priscilla Jarona
This will be my last article as your Chapter President. I want to begin by saying
that I have enjoyed being in this leadership position for the last couple of years. I
want to thank the other members of the Board for making my job easy. Everyone
has been very helpful and volunteered to pitch in when necessary. I also want to
especially thank Diane Vultaggio for her assistance during the last couple of years..
She has provided great direction and jumped in to help when my schedule was
chaotic at work. I hope to provide that same assistance to Ana as she takes over
the President role.
For those of you who were not at our last meeting, I announced the new Chapter
leadership roles. Ana Aquino-Perez will be the new President; Ruth Breunig will
continue as VP-Programs - this will be her 3
rd
year in this position (that might be a
record!); Lori Ashley will take over as VP-Seminar; Mary Boneck will take over
as VP-Membership; Tim Hughes will remain as VP-Finance (this may be Tim's 3
rd
year also); Janet Nelson will continue as Secretary; I will remain as Past President..
In addition, Rosemary Stark will continue to provide her services in developing the
newsletter; Sarah Schild will continue as Webmaster; Pam Duane will continue as
Finance/Audit, Librarian/Archivist and ICRM Liaison (full plate!). Special thanks
to those who are continuing and to those who have volunteered to take on new
roles. For me this has been a very rewarding experience to work with these special
people.
Now that our program year is finished, the Board will spend the summer planning
programs for next year. We want to make sure that we are meeting the needs of all
our members with the presentations that are provided throughout the program year.
If you have suggestions or information that would be particularly useful to you,
please send a message to Ruth Breunig (
ruthbreunig@alliantenergy.com
) so that
we can find speakers for your topic. This organization is here for all the members;
I hope you are reaping the benefits.
Also during the summer, several of the Board members will be attending a
Leadership Conference. This conference provides the attendees an opportunity to
network, gather additional information on what other chapters are doing, and bring
that back to our chapter. I have attended the last 2 years and was amazed at how
much valuable information I got.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe summer and will see you all in September!
