Where do we see our chapter five years from now? Where do we want to go from
here? What else can we offer our members, the business community, our
companies, and other organizations...? How do we educate others and raise
awareness about records and information management best practices? These are
some of the questions we pondered during our chapter's first strategic planning
meeting last week. As we look into our chapter's immediate future, we want to
acknowledge that the world of records management (RM) is changing. We want to
incorporate the new trends into our chapter's planning and on what we have to offer
our members and the business community.

2005-2006 Program
If you have any ideas on what you would like the chapter to do, new directions for
the chapter, or any other ideas you would like us to consider, please let us know. We
want to make sure our members' needs and input are considered as we go through
this process. Feel free to e-mail any of the board members with your input. We will
continue to update you on the progress of the strategic planning process and continue
to solicit your input.
On another topic, don't forget our November program scheduled for Tuesday,
November 8, 2005. Linda Walker from Foley & Lardner will be talking about the
lessons learned from implementing an Electronic Content Management (ECM)
System in her firm. If you have thought about ECM or ERM (Electronic Records
Management) or are considering or recommending the implementation of such a
system in your business, you do not want to miss this program. It will give you
insight not only what you may expect when you go through the same process but
also lessons learned that you might want to consider as you plan the implementation
of these systems.
Keep an eye also for the programs we have planned for the remainder of our fiscal
year. You can take a quick look at what we have planned by visiting the following
website.
Signing off for now!
