PRESIDENT'S BLOG
By Ana Aquino-Pérez
With the Holidays around the corner, our thoughts usually turn to family, friends,
food, gifts, and sharing. During our joint event with the Business Forms
Management Association (BFMA) on Tuesday, December 6, we will continue our
tradition of learning and sharing. Our December program will be an opportunity for
you to learn new things and share your holiday spirit with those less fortunate.
During the program, a panel of speakers will discuss the new skills needed for
records and forms management professionals. We invite all our chapter members,
including those who are retired, to join us for this program. Remember to also bring
your colleagues and anyone else you feel will benefit from the information that will
be shared.
We will be holding our annual charity event. Every year our chapter gives
generously during this time. Attendees are asked to donate arts, crafts, homemade
baked goods, canning creations, or anything else you would like to donate. We also
ask that you bring along gloves, hats, and food for needy families in the Madison
area. We will collect new, unwrapped items for children or adults, personal hygiene
items, or nonperishable food items to help stock food pantries. Monetary donations
are also welcome. Proceeds from the charity drive will be given to the Atwood
Community Center and Allied Drive Food Pantry.
Your holiday spirit does not have to be only about the material things that you can
give. You could volunteer at a soup kitchen or bring some holiday cheer to nursing
home residents or to ill children in the hospital. You can also share your RIM
knowledge with others by volunteering for a community or nonprofit organization
and helping them with their records needs. Or you could write an article in a
newspaper, a journal, or a magazine and share your knowledge and experience so
others can benefit from your expertise. You can become a vital part of your
community!
As the year ends, remember all your blessings and look forward to the New Year!
Have a happy and safe holidays and a great New Year!!
