PRESIDENT'S BLOG
By Ana Aquino-Pérez
Our chapter's program year is closing with our May 9 program. It is hard to believe
how fast the year has gone by as we examine our accomplishments and the goals we
set up for the chapter.
During this year, the program committee planned and delivered an array of programs
from a basic records management refresher to the latest developments in the law of
e-discovery. We will be winding down with a tour of one of Madison's most
successful companies. The seminar committee put together and delivered a very
successful spring seminar on digital preservation that was very well-attended and
well-received. We are in the process of developing a strategic plan that we hope will
provide good direction and strategy for the chapter's future. We are also finalizing
the revision of our bylaws to reflect our current organizational status and any
changes resulting from the strategic planning. Finally, but not least, we are in the
process of planning the Great Lakes Region Leadership Conference that we will be
hosting in Madison in July.
Though we have made some significant progress, we still have a ways to go to
accomplish our goals. We will continue to tap into you to help us lead the chapter
where it will best serve our members, the organizations we represent, and the
Madison community, as we try to become one of Madison's leading resources and
experts in the area of information management.
As we wind down our program year, do not forget to volunteer for next year's
committees. We continue to look for fresh ideas to deliver programs that will best
serve your needs. It is also an opportunity to network and meet other members and a
chance for you to add your two cents worth toward the chapter's direction and
become leaders in this thriving organization. It is an experience you will not forget.
Finally, do not forget to register for our upcoming May program set for Tuesday,
May 9. As part of the program, we will be touring Epic Systems' new campus in
Verona and will hold our annual awards dinner afterwards. Detailed information will
be following shortly via e-mail. If you do not receive any information, please let us
know so we can ensure that our mailing list is accurate and up to date. We are
looking forward to seeing you then.
