PRESIDENT'S BLOG

Happy Holidays everyone! 2006 is already ending. I hope resolutions made were
kept and goals achieved. However, if it has not been the case, 2007 will offer new
opportunities and possibilities.
Our chapter accomplished many things that we can be proud of this year. We have a
strong board with new members that have brought new ideas, diversity, and new
blood to our leadership. We put together great programs and a seminar that proved to
be very successful. We hosted a very successful leadership conference for the Great
Lakes region that gave the participants the opportunity to further enhance their
leadership skills as chapter leaders, to network with other chapters' leaders, to share
information and experiences, and to further their professional development. We
deployed a new chapter Web site with enhanced features to help our members find
the information they need regarding the chapter, the association, and the profession.
We drafted action plans for the next three years to implement the chapter's newly
drafted strategic plan. We look forward to the opportunities 2007 will bring to offer
you new and exciting programs and activities where you can participate and enjoy.
On another topic, don't forget to register for our December program. On Tuesday,
December 5, 2006, we will be holding our annual holiday meeting and charity event
with BFMA to continue many years of sharing and learning together. Our two
organizations will share breakfast, donate and participate in the charity drive, and
hear an excellent presentation from Judge Gary Carlson
--a Judge with a sense of
humor! Don't miss it. Our December program is usually a very fun one!
