SPRING

PRESIDENT'S BLOG
By Ana Aquino-Perez

Think spring, think spring, think spring. That has been my motto and my mantra in
the last few weeks. I'm hoping that keeping a positive attitude will either make
spring come sooner or that I get over my cabin fever. This is supposed to be our
spring issue, but winter seems to be lingering on and on.

Regardless of the weather, we have some exciting programs. Our February program,
presented by Pam Duane, CRM, and Tim Hughes, CRM, on developing functional
records schedules attracted a great number of attendants. The information and
handouts created a very good discussion and people took with them information that
they can certainly use in their workplaces.

Our next program will be our Tri-chapter meeting. It will take place Tuesday, March
11, in Fond du Lac. During the program "It's what my company and I didn't know
we didn't know about e-Mail Retention that got us into Trouble,"
Tom Reding
will be discussing the many issues, aspects, and challenges associated with the
retention, disposition, and e-discovery aspects of e-mail. It promises to be a very
interesting and enlightening program. I encourage you to attend and to bring along
your IT and legal staff if you can.

Don't forget our Spring Seminar, Wednesday, April 16,
at the UW-Madison Fluno
Center. The seminar will give you another opportunity to get some great training that
you wouldn't be able to get otherwise. You can find detailed information and the
seminar brochure on our Web site.

In addition, don't forget our second annual community and small businesses
shredding event on Friday and Saturday April 18-19 at Kard Recycling and
Shredding. Bring your own personal documents that need to be shredded and spread
the word around in the community and your business area. Detailed information will
be posted on the Web site in the next few days. Our May program will bring our
program year to a conclusion. It also gives us the opportunity to honor those
members that have made a significant contribution to the chapter and the profession.
If you have any suggestions for a member award, please let us know.

We continue to look forward to bringing you exciting programs and activities to
assist you with your information management career development and with your
organization's records and information needs.

We look forward to seeing you at our next program and seminar.
