RIM Proclamation
PRESIDENT'S BLOG
By Ana Aquino-Perez
Spring is here and it seems the year is already flying by. March is gone, April is
already here, and we are almost done with our program year. However, we still have
some great programs left.
April has been designated as Records and Information Management Month (RIMM)
by ARMA International and by Wisconsin's Governor Jim Doyle. RIMM is an
opportunity for all of us to promote records and information management within our
organizations. Check the ARMA International Web site for some great ideas and
activities to put together during this month.
On April 16, we will be holding our spring seminar Building Intellectual
Architecture for Sustainable Records Management Performance at the UW-
Madison Fluno Center. There is still time to register if you have not done so already.
Make sure you encourage your organization's IT staff and business managers to
attend. Our second annual community and small businesses Shredding Event will
take place Friday and Saturday, April 18 and 19, at Kard Recycling and Shredding.
Information and resources on privacy and identity theft will be available on-site.
Soon we will be seeking board and committee nominations. Participating in the
chapter's leadership and volunteering in the different committees are excellent
opportunities to learn more about the chapter, help with the direction of the chapter,
and put together activities and events that will meet your records and information
management needs. We encourage your active participation. So, consider
nominating yourself or someone else for a leadership position and/or volunteer to be
part of one the chapter's committees. We promise you the experience is not only
rewarding but a lot of fun as well. Finally, don't forget to send us your suggestions
for a chapter member award. We look for the opportunity to honor those members
that have made a significant contribution to the chapter and/or the profession.
We look forward to seeing you at the seminar!
