ARMA-MADISON AND KARD RECYCLING OFFERING FREE
CONFIDENTIAL SHREDDING APRIL 18-19

Confidential shredding will take place on Friday, April 18, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and
Saturday, April 19, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Kard Recycling and Shredding, 710 Watson
Avenue in Madison. Businesses and individuals are welcome to come to this event.
Up to 100 pounds can be shredded free. A $10 donation for amounts over the 100
pounds is being requested, and the proceeds will be contributed to a local charity. In
2007, over $650 was donated to the Atwood Community Center and the Salvation
Army.
The month of April is designated Records and Information Management Month by
ARMA International (The Authority on Managing Records and Information) and
Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle. ARMA International is a not-for-profit association
and the leader in education and training for records and information management
professionals.
The ARMA-Madison Chapter and Kard Recycling are sponsoring this
free event for the community, local organizations, and business. Information will be
available on identity theft, how to stay safe on-line, privacy, charge card fraud, how
to perform a household inventory, and how long to keep personal records as well as
other information to protect you. Representatives from the ARMA-Madison Chapter
will be available to answer any questions.
